In October 2016, air raids were particularly horrifying in the province of Idleb. Between the 20th to 26th of October, the SOHR (Syrian Observatory for Human Rights) reported more than 75 deaths and 150 injuries due to these raids. Among the many victims, Dr. Youssef Al-Tarrafe.

Dr. Youssef Al-Tarrafe, specializing in general surgery, originated from the village of Hass in the province of Idleb. His young brother, Houthayfa Al-Tarrafe, also a doctor, had lost his life while in detention a few month before him.
Conditions of death:
On October 26, 2016, military aircrafts led six strikes on the village of Hass, against a school and its surroundings, killing 35 civilians, including 11 children. During the bombing, Dr. Youssef Al-Tarrafe was fatally wounded. He died as a result of his injuries two days later while he was in postoperative reanimation.
One of his friends said, “Dr. Youssef was known for his determination to stay with his relatives and his dedication to save the lives of all. He practiced in several hospitals in Idilb including Orient Hospital.”
